The Secret Ingredient  
I haven't done meta in a long time. I prefer to work on my stories and I'm very much focused on crafting them, seeing what works, what doesn't work. But I have done two pieces, one about writing AUs and another about character bashing, both in the Buffy fandom some time ago.

But I'm frequently asked: why do people read your work?

It's something I mull over constantly. I want to understand the tools I use, to be conscious of craft. I want to be a better writer this year than I was last year. Of course, the best way to do that is by writing.

But I think that why people read my work is a universal and many authors offer it.

So what is it?
